Workspace

My desk at Style Cruiser HQ

Well it's Sunday and there is no better day than Sunday to do some...work!
As I'm about to start drinking my fourth coffee today I can't help but wonder about my working space, how it affects me and if anything such as desks psychoanalysis exist..?
Research shows that "look" of your desk mirrors not only the way you work but also the way you are...

Hippychic

Even quick look at Isabel Marant's Summer 2013 collection makes me want to move to a Californian desert and join a rural commune...Her collection of floaty dresses, tunics and shorts represents whats best about her designs-effortless elegance and comfort.

Isabel Marant is also bringing the effortless chic to high-street as H&M just announced their designer partnership.
Autumn 2013 collection will become available in H&M stores worldwide in November this year. Excited much?!

PEACE & LOVE

Diamonds are a girl's best friend...

Diamonds are a girl's best friend and now, more than ever, I want to make new friends thanks to Polly Wales whose new ring collection Archipelago got me wondering just how long can I survive on water and toast so that I can get my hands on one of her intricate pieces...
I first came across Polly designs while browsing through Lesley Craze Gallery website. Lesley has an amazing eye for precious metal designers and displays works of Ruth Tomlinson, Joel Degen and Momoko Kumai to name just a few.

Rings designed by Polly Wales from RAPUNZEL collection

Polly Wales graduated from Royal College of Art London in 2006. Her love of traditional casting and carving techniques combined with exceptional attention to detail creates truly unique and one of a kind pieces of jewelry.
There is something extremely enticing yet still natural and simple in forms that Polly uses and reminds me of gold rings and pendants worn in Byzantine periods.

Polly Wales, Grey DIAMOND stack ring

All of Polly's pieces are hand crafted to order and available from www.pollywales.com.Typical delivery time 4-6 weeks.

ARCHIPELAGO RING Cushion Cut London Blue Topaz in an 18ct yellow gold setting embedded with antique cut blue sapphires, €4490.00 incl. VAT

I might not be able to afford Archipelago ring just yet, but I have two unchecked EuroMillions tickets in my pocket and...buckets of hope.

Comfortable yet stylish shoes - Yes, they do exist!

The sunshine finally arrived and the summer season is officially here, however,  good weather in Ireland can cause a lot of confusion and stress when it comes to choosing what to wear...
I got myself into even more trouble when my friend and I decided to WALK to a pub that was located a mile away! I understand that a MILE might not sound like a lot for many people, but let's just say that my opinion on walking is very different than most peoples.
I always openly admitted that walking was an "evil invention" and just like hiking it is "completely pointless" and now, not only did I have to find stylish looking shoes, but they also had to be comfortable enough to walk in them for a MILE...
An hour later I was ready to give up on the idea of going anywhere...I was tired, frustrated and needles to say, I was also shoeless.
And just when I was about to have a shoe breakdown* I remembered a pair of lovely and comfy H&M wedges that were tucked away in my wardrobe...eureka, it only took an hour.... and all I needed now was a drink.

shoe breakdown*
specific acute time-limited phase, involving symptoms such as wearing no shoes or very inappropriate shoes in public.
The long term effects of shoe breakdown could lead to anxiety or depression. Shoe breakdown, in almost all cases, is caused by not owning enough pairs of shoes.

Comfy shoes, sunshine and a well earned Irish whiskey-the recipe for a perfect Sunday in Finnegan's in Dalkey, Ireland.
(the lady in the background is no stranger to "shoe breakdown")

They might not be Jimmy Choo's but they passed the "mile test".

Sleep, sleep, glorious sleep...

It's been few days since I'm back on the Irish soil and three things are always guaranteed over here...

1) Lovely people
2) Great craic
3) Bloody freezing weather in May

If the weather outside reminds you more of a Siberia than Hawaii you most probably have two choices (in Ireland at least): go to the cosy pub and sip your hot whiskey by the fire or embrace your inner koala bear and lounge at home...

If you just like me would be a millionaire if someone would pay you for sleep, my recommendation would be to get your most comfortable pj's out, make yourself a cup of cocoa and spend the rest of the weekend doing...well,  as little as possible!

Over the years of being lounge lover I tried and tested every pajama style possible, here are my top choices:

1. Essential range by Calvin Klein,
Smooth and soft as a silk, yet extremely breathable. Ohh and did I mentioned, it fits like a glove.
Available at Brown Thomas, Dublin.

Cap sleeve pajama top and pants; Essential range by Calvin Klein

2. Waffle knit thermal pj's by Munki Munki
Super cute designs and cosy comfort of waffle knit. Probably the warmest light pajamas I ever slept in.
Available from www.munkimunki.com
Rainbows Thermal Henley & Leggings by Munki Munki

3. Cotton Mayfair Sleepshirt by Victoria's Secret
Feels a little bit like an oversized men's shirt and this is what I like about it the most. Perfect for a Sunday lounging.
Available from www.victoriassecret.com

4. Your boyfriends t-shirt
There is something extremely comforting about wearing your boyfriends t-shirt to bed.
I would recommend to find a boyfriend who is wearing RVCA or Pickwick&Weller clothes...they tend to make the most comfortable t-shirts.
If you don't have a boyfriend, invest in oversized men's top...it might just do the trick.
Available worldwide

"The Stuart" t-shirt by Pickwick&Weller

And for those who say "I only wear Chanel No.5 to sleep", I can guarantee you, they never lived in Ireland.
